Easily the most professional, friendly, transparent auto shop I’ve ever encountered. I brought in a used Ford Ranger and explained that I needed them to give it a “once over” to make certain there were no major issues. He understood and then outlined everything they’d be looking for and what I should expect. Throughout the process I was provided with pictures of the work and a list of critical items as well as those that could wait. Brian even invited me back to the bay to see the truck and meet the mechanic assigned to the repairs. Completely up front about necessary repairs, timing, and cost. They delivered the vehicle when promised with a complete printout of the work completed. What sets John’s apart from other auto repair businesses is they understand that most of us aren’t mechanics so they speak to you in a clear, reassuring manner and won’t sell you something you don’t need. I was a long-time, satisfied customer of Harloff Automotive. I was equally comforted and impressed by the transition from Harloff to John's Automotive Care in La Mesa. Their mechanics are excellent; their communication is clear, proactive, and friendly; their rates are well within reason, and they operate from a high level of integrity. One time, I took my car to Discount Tire right after having work done at John's Automotive. I had just discussed the condition of my tires with the manager at John's and knew the tread depth measurements because John's A. documents everything at each inspection. I was surprised when the rep at Discount Tire showed me a totally different result, and proceeded to try to sell me all new tires. I called the manager at John's Automotive, who then got on the phone with the manager at Discount Tire and gave them a stern warning to not play these kinds of games. John's Automotive has shown me consistently that they have my back, and they truly care about making a positive difference in the community.

John’s Automotive is first rate in every category: the personnel whom one first meets when they enter the office are friendly and helpful; vehicle inspections are thorough and the implications based on those inspections are forthright; the repair work is of the best quality, and the prices are competitive. Good, honest, auto repair shops are hard to find and when one finds a good one its best to stick with it. John’s is one of those shops.

Brought in my 1999 Toyota 4runner for a leaking hard brake line, the team at JAC inspected not only the brake line but the whole truck and gave me an overview of the condition. Very honest, friendly, and accommodating staff.
