Save your money. I've had issues with their service in the past where I've had to go back multiple times within a period of 3 months. The most recent incident is them charging me almost $900 for an alternator. This was after they already performed the service. They didn't give me an estimate beforehand. Every other place EVEN THE DEALERSHIP told me $400-$500 max. After telling an associate that i felt they were gouging me AGAIN (this is not the first time I've had an experience like this) they took off a small amount but I still paid around $750 which is ridiculous. When I got my car back my driver seat had parts that were broken by one of the mechanics-which I had to go back for them to fix. Not only that, but my car broke down less than a month later. Took it to a new place who took care of me and fixed some of JAC's mistakes. I couldn't believe that I put my trust in them for as long as I did. I'm appalled and disappointed. I was taken advantage of and left with a broken down car multiple times BECAUSE of them. I've told all my multiple tow drivers, coworkers, and friends to stay away from this business. If you're going here for anything other than a standard oil change, be prepared to have more car problems and high bills.

Been going to John's for many years now and they are amazing. This location use to be Harloff which I went to for ages and John has done a wonderful job of keeping up traditions of excellent service and customer service! The service advisors and the technicians are all super friendly and I have gotten to know them over the years and they have taken care of many of my vehicles. Highly recommend them for honest and trust worthy car service!

John’s does not disappoint! I was told by a friend to take my car to John’s vice the dealership because I would get great work and even better, a fair price. Well, I got all of that and it was topped off by friendly, knowledgeable staff who really go out of their way to explain things and find ways to get your work done without gouging you for unneeded work. My Volvo was diagnosed and fixed for over $1k less than Volvo would’ve charged me. I highly recommend John’s for all work needed for your vehicle.

What am I supposed to say that hasn't already been said? That John's Automotive is San Diego's best at what they do? That Jay and Brian are funny and smart and make every effort at explaining your vehicle's needs/status? That once you go to John's for your automotive care, you're pretty much where you will always go for your automotive care? Well all that has been said already. I know because I have said it. And because it all still applies, I am saying it again.
