This place should be renamed to "John Cares". Its more than an auto shop, they actually, genuinely, CARE about your safety! Forever grateful!

This is the best automative care that I have ever received. The staff is always nice and very helpful. Dave is always very informative when tell you the maintenance that needs to be done on the vehicle. They will not overcharge, or try to do something on the vehicle that is not needs. With that being said they will still tell you all that can be done to make the vehicle work to its fullest capacity. They also have a courtesy drop off, which helps A LOT. They put you as a customer first.

These guys are knowledgeable, reasonable and their customer service is awesome! I will go back to them for any car problems I may have in the future!

As a senior citizen (female), I hate car problems! I had brake issues recently while in Palm Desert and was towed to a AAA-recommended repair shop (a Napa Autocare Center). After a few weeks, I was not feeling comfortable with the brakes and took my car to John’s Automotive Care on University Avenue in La Mesa. They agreed that something was not right and actually kept my car for two days before the problem was resolved. Dave was great about communicating with me as to status of my vehicle and upfront and honest. He and Brian both made me comfortable and confident that my car was in good hands. John (who drove me home and picked me up) was such a nice guy and also assured me that my car would be well taken care of as “this shop cares about its customers.” As the work done in Palm Desert was still under warranty, I drove away with a -0- balance, and I can’t tell you how happy that made me as I had spent $1,300 in Palm Desert on my car. I have absolute confidence in John’s Automotive Care and the guys who work there and wholeheartedly recommend them for any repairs you may have. I will be back if Molly Mazda needs attention in the future!

The staff was super nice, funny, considerate and patient when it came to answering any questions I had and easing my concerns. They were also very efficient with getting my vehicle fixed and returned to me.
